Staff Bios
Executive Director:
Adrien Lawyer is the Executive Director of The Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico. Adrien also has a long history of activism in the LGBT community. In his capacity as Executive Director he sits on many various task forces, including groups that are suggesting policy to APS regarding transgender students and staff and UMNH's new Diversity Equity and Inclusion group to name but a few. He is a transgendered man, a spouse and a father and is working for equality and accessible resources for the entire transgender community.
Youth Coordinator:
Seth Kazmar - Seth is a transman with a tireless passion for working with TG youth. He initiated a support group for TG people under 30 which evolved in to the youth support group he now facilitates weekly. He was an invaluable volunteer at the First Annual TG Summit, held in Albuquerque in May 2010 and has already begun attending numerous trainings including a Trevor Project suicide prevention training for providers of services to TG Youth. Seth is a member of the Center's Speakers Bureau, the National Safe Schools Roundtable and has been a liaison to other local and national agencies including the UNM LGBTQ resource center, GLSEN, and others. He is currently on his way to graduating from UNM with two Bachelors in Psychology and Sociology with a focus on youth and adolescent development.
Assistant Director:
Zane Stephens is the Assistant Director of The Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico. Mr. Stephens uses his many skills to assist the Center in this capacity, including serving as our webmaster. His enthusiasm for social justice and trans rights is plain in his ongoing effort to reach out to the community and help, from volunteering with Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless on the harm reduction mobile outreach to attending various Pride festivals with the Resource Center, all over the state. He is also raising his young son here in Albuquerque.
